Settings
The procedures described as follows entail crush, shear,
and amputation hazards. Work with extreme caution and
take all measures necessary to prevent dangerous
situations.
!
DANGER
To prevent serious injury or death:
Always secure equipment with solid, non-concrete supports
before working under it. Never go under equipment supported
by concrete blocks or hydraulics. Concrete can break,
hydraulic lines can burst, and/or hydraulic controls can be
actuated even when power to hydraulics is off.
!
WARNING
To prevent serious injury or death:
The implement and its components must be immobilized
and supported with appropriate supports.
Make all adjustments on a flat, level and firm surface.
Set Working Height
!
CAUTION
To prevent serious injury:
The blades must never be adjusted to come closer to the
ground than 1" (2.5 cm).
IMPORTANT: When working in rocky or uneven
terrain conditions, increase the distance the blades
are carried above ground.
Setting the working height of the implement correctly will
maximize productivity and ensure better results.
In order to work correctly, the implement must be parallel
with the terrain, with the rotor at the correct distance from
the ground.

Roller Adjustment
Figure 2-1
The driveline coupled to the tractor must also be as
horizontal as possible while the implement is in use.
Adjust Roller Height
Refer to Figure 2-1:
IMPORTANT: The roller must be adjusted into the
same position on both sides.
The roller can be adjusted to a mowing height ranging
between 1" (2.5 cm) and 2 3/4" (7 cm).
1.
Park tractor and implement on a flat, level surface.
2. Lower tractor lift arms to bring the roller in contact
with the ground.
3. Adjust incline cylinder until the flail head is parallel
with the ground from left to right.
4. Shut tractor down according to "Tractor Shutdown
Procedure" on page 12 before dismounting tractor.
5. Check the distance between the blades and the
ground: In general, this should be approximately
2 3/8" (6 cm) when the implement is set correctly.
6. Raise and secure the implement under the skid
shoes with non-concrete support blocks.
7.
Undo and remove bolts (#2), associated washers,
and nuts that fasten roller (#1) to the ends of the
mower.
8. Adjust roller (#1) to the desired height by
repositioning bolts (#2) into the other 3-hole bolt
position on both ends of the roller. Secure bolts with
removed washers and nuts.
9. Tighten all the nuts to the correct torque.
