Section 4: Maintenance & Lubrication
General Maintenance Information
Proper maintenance will ensure the machine's best
possible performance and an extended service life.
Keep the Operator's Manual in a known and easily-
accessible location in order to ensure that it is always
available for consultation.
The maintenance person must read and understand
the contents of the Operator's Manual in full to
familiarize him or herself with all the controls and
functions of the machine.
When required, use the special equipment indicated in
this manual to perform the maintenance operation.
Never use the driveline as a pedestal for performing
any type of maintenance to the implement.
Do not perform any maintenance operation with the
tractor engine running unless specifically identified as
necessary in this manual. If necessary, always follow
all instructional requirements in this manual, prepare
the exhaust fume evacuation system in advance, and
use necessary Personal Protective Equipment.
Activate all the machine's safety devices before
performing any maintenance or adjustments.
Disengage the power take-off (PTO) shaft and wait until
all parts are at a complete stop. Never work on an
implement while it is operating.
Proper maintenance will help to prevent the risk of fires
during the machine's operating phases.
All maintenance and adjustment procedures must be
performed with the machine unhitched from the tractor.
If this is not possible, before starting work, park the
tractor on level ground, disengage the power take-off,
set all controls to their neutral positions, switch the
motor off and remove the switch key from the switch,
put the tractor in park or engage the parking brake,
secure the flail mower in a safe position mechanically
and chock the wheels.
Replace components only with Original Equipment
Manufactured (OEM) parts. The use of similar but not
identical spare parts could lead to non-compliant
repairs, altered performance levels, and property
damage.
Use oil recommended by the Manufacturer. Do not mix
oils of different brands or with incompatible chemical-
physical properties.
Check all hardware after several hours of operation and
on a regular basis thereafter to ensure they are tight
and secured. Tighten all loose hardware as indicated in
the "Torque Values Chart" on page 61.
Do not perform checks and adjustments while the
machine is in motion and with an operator on board.
Inspect the bearings. They must rotate freely with no
hardness and/or noise, otherwise they must be
replaced.
Replace worn, damaged, or illegible safety labels by
obtaining new labels from your Land Pride dealer.

Special Maintenance Safety
!
WARNING
To prevent serious injury or death:
While the implement has been designed and built to work in
difficult environmental conditions, a number of additional
special maintenance procedures are required after a few
years of operation to keep the implement in proper working
order and ensure its safety.
These interventions must be performed by personnel with
specific technical skills at workshops that are properly
equipped and authorized by the manufacturer.
