S60/S80 Final QC Test Procedures Rev.6
Additional equipment required:
PC with the following:
USB 2.0 Hi-Speed port
Windows 2000 or Windows XP
MIDI I/O hardware (i.e. soundcard w/ MIDI adapter cable)
MIDI-OX
Signal source (i.e. CD player with sine wave test CD)
Set of cables to connect signal source to audio inputs of S60 or S80 under test
Footswitch
Expression Pedal (Roland EV5 or equivalent)
MIDI cable (2 pieces)
USB cable (approximately 6-8 meters in length for testing worst case conditions)
Headphones
Compactflash card
External SATA harddrive
SATA cable
Monitoring device with SPDIF input (both coaxial and optical)
RCA cable
Monitoring device with ADAT Optical input (i.e. Alesis ADAT XT)
Optical cable
RL barcode scanner
S60/S80 Service Key (9-79-0196 with S60/S80 service key adapter cable)
Hold down buttons "1" and "8" as power is turned on to enter diagnostic mode (the unit
may display an error message regarding an invalid serial number or invalid wheel/pedal
calibration -- ignore the message for now, as the serial number will be entered at the end of the
QC procedures, and the wheels and pedals will be calibrated during QC.) The LCD will display
the following after entering diagnostic mode:
NOTE: Any place in this document where the encoder is turned one click clockwise to select
an item, pressing the "INC" button once will have the same effect. Similarly, whenever the
encoder is turned one click counterclockwise, pressing the "DEC" button once will accomplish
the same thing. The only exception is the encoder test.
