Installing on Your Network

Check the leveling jacks to be sure that they are fully extended.
Make sure that the rack is stable before extending a component.
The StorTrends 2104 NAS server can be installed in most industry-standard rack
cabinets. See your rail and rack installation instructions for more information on
installing the chassis into your rack. After you have physically installed the StorTrends
2104 NAS server into your rack, you can install the StorTrends 2104 NAS server onto
your network. There are a couple ways to install the StorTrends 2104 NAS server onto
your network. They are as follows:

Automatically through DHCP
•
Console User Interface (UI) using a local keyboard and monitor (for configuring
both static and DHCP)
These installation options are explained in the following tables.
Caution
Extend one component at a time from the rack.
Install heavier components on the bottom of the rack.
