Console UI Using a Local Keyboard and Monitor

Step Action
1 Note: If you installed the StorTrends NAS Software, skip steps one through four.
Connect the power cable to the StorTrends 2104 NAS server's power connector. Verify that the power
LED on the back of the chassis is lit green.
2 Connect the Ethernet cable into one of the two NIC connectors on the back of the StorTrends 2104 NAS
server.
3 Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable into a functioning Ethernet jack. Verify that the link LED on
the NIC connector is illuminated. If the LED is not illuminated, check to make sure that each end of the
Ethernet cable is seated properly in the NIC connector and the Ethernet jack.
4 Connect a keyboard, mouse, and VGA monitor to the rear panel of the StorTrends 2104 NAS server.
5 Press the power button to turn on the StorTrends 2104 NAS server.
Note: It can take approximately eight (8) minutes for the StorTrends NAS server to fully boot.
6 Once your StorTrends 2104 NAS server boots up, you are presented with the AMI NAS authentication
screen. It lists the default host name and IP address.
Note: The default host name is nasxxxxxxxxxxxx, where xxxxxxxxxxxx is the MAC address.
For example, if your MAC address is 00112233445566, then the host name of your
StorTrends 2104 NAS server is as
nas00112233445566
