• Locate the main room remote control RF Antenna,
• The RF antenna typically goes in the room where the RF remote control is to be used.
• The total cable run from the antenna to the system rack should be less than 50 feet.
• Considering additional cabling required on the system rack end, the net cable run from the RF Antenna wall plate to the
system rack rear panel should be less than 50 feet.
Main Unit
Total distance from the multi-room distribution unit to the RF antenna should be less than 50 feet. Net distance from the system
rack to the RF antenna wall plate should be less than 40 feet, to accommodate the additional cabling inside the system rack.
• Locate the Main Room television or video front projector.
IMPORTANT NOTE: For details on video front projector installation, including environmental and ventilation requirements, proper throw
distances and screen size, and allowable offset from screen center, please consult the Sony projector User Manual, which can be
downloaded in PDF format from www.sony.com/newhome. A convenient tool for calculating maximum and minimum allowable throw
distances is Sony's PJCalc! PC utility, also available for downloading at www.sony.com/newhome.
• Itemize electrical service.
• Provide a DEDICATED, 20 amp circuit with a grounded duplex outlet at the System Rack location.
• Provide a 15 amp grounded duplex outlet for the Main Room television or video front projector and the Main Room subwoofer.
• Provide a 15 amp grounded duplex outlet for the television in each remote room.
• Provide a 15 amp grounded duplex outlet for Auxiliary Sources.
• Main room design.
• Determine the location for the main television or video front projector.
• Determine the number of surround speakers.
• Sony receivers can accommodate either 5.1-channel or 7.1-channel sound.
• Determine the location for the surround sound speakers (Left, Center, Right, Left Surround, Right Surround, Left Surround Rear,
Right Surround Rear and Subwoofer).
• Remote rooms. Determine locations for all in-wall control panels, connected televisions, in-wall speakers and free-standing speakers,
plus wall plates for RF (if added), video and speaker wiring.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Each in-wall control panel includes an infrared sensor window. Be sure to position all in-wall control panels away
from direct sunlight or lighting equipment. Exposure to sunlight or lighting equipment may cause a malfunction.
