Demo 2: Data-to-Clock
This demonstration uses data-to-clock intervals measured from a
formatted hard disk drive with the HP E1725C TIA. Time intervals were
captured and sorted on-the-fly into a histogram using "fast histogram"
hardware. The histogram data has been saved and will be recalled for this
demonstration. The histogram, statistics, and window margin analysis
features of the HP E1741A will be demonstrated, as well as the ability to
define which portions of the margin curve are used to extrapolate the
margin curve.
The drive used to gather this data uses RLL (2,7) coding and has a 50 ns
decode window (T). A random data pattern was written in every sector on
the track.
