NOTE
Chapter 3 Practice Using the TIA Software
TIA Software Tutorial
This indicates that the amount of data collected will be based on
the selected number of measurements, in this case 1,000.
every edge
This means that the TIA will attempt to acquire every edge of the
input signal that meets the conditions described on the Input...
form.
Number of Acquisitions
When set to 1 indicates that only one group of 1,000 measurements
will be acquired with each display update.
Source
This setting (on the "Time Interval Measurement" panel) indicates
that the input source will be the signal connected to Input 1 of the
HP E1740A.
Use
This setting indicates how the acquired data will be processed for
display and analysis. For this example, "Use" is set to "Input 1
Only" meaning the input 1 time intervals will be displayed and
analyzed.
The Use field provides the ability to view measurements with
respect to a computed clock (when "record mode" is set to
sequential). For more information, use the online help and search
for "computed clock."
Record Mode
This indicates that the method used to record the data will be Fast
histogram, meaning that the data will be routed directly to a
hardware accelerator in the HP E1740A which histograms data
on-the-fly.
Remember: At any time, you can call up help information on the active
window by pressing the F1 key.
There is a button for Input on the setup window which calls up the
settings for input signal conditioning. You will not use it for this tutorial,
but you may want to go ahead and examine it at this point.
