Body Exterior - Edition 11.2010
– Push foam grommet -7- on control cable mount -6- to the side.
– Cut through the cable tie -arrow-.
– Release the retaining clips and open the cover.
– Remove control cable bracket -3, 4, 5- from control cable
mount -1-.
– Detach the control cable fitting for the lid lock from connecting
piece -2-.
– Remove the driver side instrument panel cover. Refer to ⇒
Body Interior; Rep. Gr. 70 ; Removal and Installation .
– Remove lower A pillar trim. Refer to ⇒ Body Interior; Rep. Gr.
70 ; Removal and Installation .
– Remove hood control cable -2- from bracket -1- and remove
at the idler pulley -arrow-.
– Detach control cable fitting -3- from operating lever -4-.

– Remove windshield wiper arms. Refer to ⇒ Electrical Equip‐
ment; Rep. Gr. 92 ; Removal and Installation .
– Remove the bolts -3- and -4-.
– Remove rubber seal -1-.
Caution
There is a risk of damaging the plenum chamber cover.
♦ Coat the transition between the windshield and water ple‐
num cover with soap solution.
– Pull plenum chamber cover -2- vertically up from the window
edge starting carefully with the windshield catches -arrows-.
