– Push the release lever on control cable -1- in the
-direction of arrow A-.
– Move the bracket with the control cable in the
-direction of arrow B- and detach from front hood lock -2-.
– Remove the engine compartment E-box cover by pushing
both bars in the -direction of the arrow-.
– Push foam grommet -7- on control cable mount -6- to the side.
– Cut through the cable tie -arrow-.
– Release the retaining clips and open the cover.
– Remove control cable bracket -4- from control cable mount
-1-.
– Detach the control cable fitting for the front lid lock from con‐
necting piece -2-.
Note
Ignore -3 and 5-.
– Conduct the control cable forward through the opening in the
lock carrier.
Installation
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

When installing, position cable ties in same place.
– Install the engine compartment E-box cover. Refer to ⇒ Elelc‐
trical Equipment; Rep. Gr. 97 ; Removal and Installation .
– Install the front lid lock. Refer to
⇒ "2.2.7 Center Hood Lock", page 42
– Install the bumper. Refer to
⇒ "2.2.1 Front Bumper", page 170
