YSTEM AND USER SOFTWARE
The System Software DVDs include the system software, fonts, and user software. Install the
system software when you do the following:
• Replace the hard disk drive.
• Upgrade to a more recent version of the system software.
• Change languages.
Software installation takes approximately one hour (not including the time required to
configure Setup).

O INSTALL OR UPGRADE SYSTEM AND USER SOFTWARE
1 Before you proceed, do the following:
• On the ColorPASS, remove all dongles and devices, except the keyboard and mouse.
If you do not, installation will fail.
• Ask the network administrator to print the Job Log, Configuration page, and Font List,
and to archive and customer-installed fonts and FreeForm masters (if possible).
2 If you are installing system software, back up the system configuration (if possible).

3 Insert System Software DVD 1 into the DVD drive, and then reboot the ColorPASS.
Wait while the system boots from the DVD.
4 Select a language from the drop-down list, and click the arrow button to continue.
5 When the "This installation will erase all data on the hard disk drive(s). Continue?" message
appears, click Continue.
6 When the "Install optional software? The following software package is optional: Adobe
Acrobat/Enfocus Pit-Stop" message appears, click Install. Wait for files to be copied to the
ColorPASS from System Software DVD 1.
Time required: approximately three minutes.
The disc ejects when this step is complete.
7 At the prompt for each DVD, insert System Software DVD 2, System Software DVD 3, and then
System Software 4 into the DVD drive. Wait for files to be copied to the ColorPASS.
Time required: approximately eight minutes.
The disc ejects when this step is complete.
8 When prompted, insert the User Software DVD into the DVD drive. Wait for files to be copied
to the ColorPASS.
Time required: approximately 12 minutes.
The disc ejects when this step is complete.
