2. Remove the three No.1 screws securing the carriage guide plate
to the top frame, as shown below.

3. Remove the springs and upper paper guides (six on the EPSON
Stylus Photo 870 and nine on the EPSON Stylus Photo 1270).

pull out the paper guides, as shown in Figure 4-60.
