5.3.4 Head Voltage ID Input

This function lets you write the printhead ID to the EEPROM on the
main board. The printhead ID controls ink dot-weight and corrects for
variations in printhead manufacture.
Make this adjustment if you replace any of the following parts:
! Printhead
! Main board
C A U T I O N
If this adjustment is needed, be sure to perform it before
doing any other adjustments.
5.3.4.1 Where to Find the Printhead ID
You can find the printhead ID in the following locations:
! On the printhead. In Figure 5-10, the head ID is
W2XU3Y2UTK1Q1L.

! On a new printer mechanism, the head ID is printed on a label
attached to the packing box. Read it top-left to lower-right—the
same way as the label on the printhead.
5.3.4.2 Checking the Current Printhead ID
1. From the main menu, click the Adjustment tab and select Head
voltage ID input. You see the screen below.

2. Select Check present data and click OK. You see the screen
below.
