3. Type in the serial number marked on the identification plate on the
back of the printer, and click OK.
C A U T I O N Be sure to enter the number correctly. If you enter the
number incorrectly, it is still accepted.
If you need to check the USB ID, return to the screen shown below
and select Check USB ID, then click OK. The computer displays the
USB ID as stored in the EEPROM on the main board.

If you need to check that the USB port is working properly
(Windows 98 only), select Confirmation of USB port function and
click OK. If the USB connection is good, an A4 check pattern prints
out.
