Crosswind Assist
Crosswind stabilization has the following charac‐
teristics:
The stabilization operates by changing wheel
R
loads through adjusting the ABC spring
struts.
Disruptions when driving straight ahead are
R
reduced.
Countersteering is supported.
R
Crosswind Assist is active at vehicle speeds
R
between 50 mph (80 km/h) and 130 mph
(210 km/h) when driving straight ahead or
cornering slightly.
Function of ROAD SURFACE SCAN

This function is not available in all countries.
The ROAD SURFACE SCAN function monitors the
road in front of your vehicle using a multifunc‐
tion camera 1. ROAD SURFACE SCAN detects
unevenness in the road surface, e.g. bumps,
before the vehicle drives over them. Chassis
movements are reduced and driving comfort is
increased.

ROAD SURFACE SCAN is automatically activated
if the following conditions are met:
Drive program A (Comfort) or N
R
(CURVE) is selected.
The vehicle is set to the normal level.
R
You are driving at a speed between 4 mph
R
(7 km/h) and 112 mph (180 km/h).
System limits
ROAD SURFACE SCAN can be impaired in the
following situations or can stop functioning:
If the roadway is insufficiently lit, e.g. at
R
night.
In snow, rain, fog, heavy spray, if there is
R
glare, in direct sunlight or in greatly varying
ambient light.
If the windshield in the area of multifunction
R
camera

is dirty, fogged up, damaged or
covered.
If the road surface has no optic structure or
R
reflects light.
If you are driving too close to the vehicle in
R
front.
