4.1 Overview of commissioning
Thus, other than symbolic assignment, no more configuration settings are required for
communication. Since addresses no longer have to be configured, the connection is
maintained even if addresses change.
Note
During the configuration of drive objects (DO drive, DO encoder, etc.) as well as in the
Message Frame Configuration dialog box (refer to section Message frame configuration
(Page 115)), you can deactivate Automatic message frame configuration and Automatic
message frame adaptation.
As deactivation means you will lose many of the benefits referred to above, we recommend it
only in justifiable exceptional circumstances.
The symbolic assignment enables an independent configuration of the axis on the
SIMOTION side and the drive on the SINAMICS side.
This means, for example, that:
● a programmer can use technology objects (TO axis, for example) to make all the
