Configuration of I/Os (variables / TO axis)

Overview
There are two options for assigning I/O terminals to an I/O variable:
● Assignment via preferential link (e.g. DI_0 [DI 0, X121.1])
● Assignment via PZD (e.g. via DI_0_15 or DO_0_15).
Interconnection via preferential link
The I/O variables are configured via the address list. Components that support a symbolic
assignment can be configured without I/O addresses.
In the assignment dialog, the preferential links are displayed as assignment targets (e.g.
DI_0 [DI 0, X121.1]). The assignment is carried out by directly selecting the corresponding
terminal signal.
Components that do not support symbolic assignment (e.g. standard PROFIBUS I/O) are
configured via I/O addresses.

Interconnection via PZD
In principle, and assignment via the PZD is also possible (e.g. via DI_0_15 or DO_0_15). You
must ensure that a message frame with a corresponding length is created for this signal, but
the BICO interconnection is not carried out.
For this purpose, switch to the "Communication" dialog of the relevant SINAMICS DO. There
you can see a list of the individual bits of the PZD (e.g. E_Digital or A_Digital). Interconnect
the corresponding bit of the PZD with a signal.

To do this, you must use the SIMOTION preferential link for the corresponding
input/outputs of the SINAMICS DOs. The BICO link is automatically executed.
You must ensure that a message frame with a corresponding length is created for this
signal, but the BICO interconnection is not carried out.
