Locking and unlocking the keypad in idle mode

About this task
Use the following procedure to lock the keypad and prevent pressing the keys accidentally.
Predefined emergency numbers can also be called while the keypad is locked. Additionally, if the
Multifunction button (3740 only) is configured as a shortcut to a predefined number, it can also be
used while the keypad is locked.
Procedure
Do the following:
• To lock the keypad during a call, press the * key, and then press Lock.
• To unlock the keypad, press the * key, and then press Yes.
• You can answer or reject an incoming call when the keypad is locked.
• You can activate an automatic key lock. The keypad will be locked automatically for a short time
after the last keystroke.
• When placed in a charger, the keypad of the handset is always unlocked.

About this task
Use this procedure to lock the keypad during a call and prevent pressing the keys accidentally. This
is useful when a headset is used and the handset is attached to a pocket or a belt.
Procedure
Do the following:
• To lock the keypad, press the * key, and then press Lock.
• To unlock the keypad, press the * key, and then press Yes.

About this task
The handset can be protected for unauthorized use. If this function is activated, a PIN code has to
be entered, for example, to switch on the handset, to answer an incoming call etc. The default
phone lock code (0000) can be changed to any 4 - 8 digit personalized code.
