5.4 Connection to the electricity supply

The dishw asher must be connect ed t o t he elect rical syst em by aut horised, skilled st aff, in accordance w it h
t he relevant regulat ions. Also comply w it h t he t echnical inst ruct ions for t he connect ion provided w it h t he
appliance. The dishw asher's rat ed elect rical charact erist ics are provided on it s t echnical dat a plate. A
circuit breaker w it h cont act gap rat ed for cat egory II overvolt age and an overcurrent prot ect ion device
(magnet ot hermal sw it ch or fuses) must be inst alled in an easily accessible posit ion on t he dishw asher's
pow er supply line. These devices must only serve t he dishw asher and must be suit able for it s rat ed
elect rical charact erist ics. The elect rical prot ect ion devices must undergo a funct ional t est before t he
dishw asher is put int o operat ion. If t he dishw asher is connect ed t o t he elect rical mains by means of a plug,
it must be of t he same t ype as t he pow er socket , suit able for t he appliance's rat ed elect rical charact erist ics
and compliant w it h t he relevant nat ional regulat ions. The pow er plug must be easily accessible aft er t he
appliance has been inst alled.
Elect rical safet y is only ensured if t he dishw asher is connect ed t o an eart h conduct or
compliant w it h t he relevant elect rical regulat ions. If in doubt , have t he syst em inspect ed by a
qualified elect rician.
Do not connect t he dishw asher t o t he elect rical mains by means of adapt ers or ext ensions,
since t hey may cause dangerous overheat ing.
Connect t he appliance t o t he eart h syst em. The eart h connect ion t erminal is low dow n on
t he back of t he appliance and is marked w it h t he
The dishw asher is alw ays pow ered up unless t he mast er sw it ch is t urned off or, on
appliances w it h pow er plug, t he plug is disconnect ed.
