Battery status indicator
Nearly dead : "BATT" flashes.
Dead (battery must be charged) :
"BATT" and "E" flash.
Tape status indicator
Close to end : "TAPE" flashes.
End (tape must be replaced) :
"TAPE" and "E" flash.
