Spanning Tree Protocol Commands

This section describes the commands you use to configure Spanning Tree Protocol (STP). STP helps
prevent network loops, duplicate messages, and network instability.

Sets the spanning-tree operational mode to enabled.
No command sets the spanning-tree operational mode to disabled. While disabled, the spanning-tree
configuration is retained and can be changed, but is not activated.

5-207 spanning-tree auto-edge
Use this command to allow the interface to become an edge port if it does not receive any BPDUs within
a given amount of time.
Use the no command to reset the auto-edge status of the port to the default value.
