HYDRAULIC BRAKE
REAR BRAKE CALIPER
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Drain the brake fluid from the pedal brake line hydraulic
system (page 19-6).
Remove the oil bolt [1], sealing washers [2] and brake
Avoid spilling fluid
hose [3].

Remove the brake pads (page 19-9).
Place a shop towel
Lift the rear brake caliper [4] and remove it by pulling
over these parts
right.

system is serviced.
• Check the caliper pin boot [5] for deteriorated or
damaged, replace it with a new one if necessary.
• If the pad retainer [6] is removed, apply ThreeBond
1521 or an equivalent to the retainer seating
surface.
• Apply 0.4 g (0.01 oz) of silicone grease to the sliding
area of the caliper pin bolt [7].
Install the rear brake caliper.
Install the brake pads (page 19-9).
Install the brake hose eyelet to the caliper body with
new sealing washers and oil bolt.
Push the hose eyelet joint against the caliper body, then
tighten the oil bolt to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 34 N·m (3.5 kgf·m, 25 lbf·ft)
Fill brake fluid and bleed air from the rear brake line
hydraulic system (page 19-7).
