6 Start the engine form the ground controls.
7 Raise the boom and remove the safety chock.
8 Lower the boom to the stowed position.
9 Remove drive chassis covers from both the
steer end and the non-steer end of the machine.
10 Check to ensure that each lower bearing
mounting bolt under the drive chassis is torqued
in sequence to specifications. Refer to
Section 2, Specifications.

Inspect for Turntable Bearing
Wear
Periodic inspection of turntable bearing wear is
essential to safe machine operation, good machine
performance and service life. Continued use of a
worn turntable bearing could create an unsafe
operating condition, resulting in death or serious
injury and component damage.
1 Grease the turntable bearing. See A-12, Grease
the Turntable Bearing and Rotate Gear.
2 Torque the turntable bearing bolts to
specification. See D-2, Check the Turntable
Rotation Bearing Bolts.
3 Start the machine from the ground controls and
raise the boom to full height. Do not extend the
boom.
