Setting the Framing Format

To set the framing format used for the E1 or T1 line, use the following command.
Table 10-6 explains the framing format options.
Command> set Line0 framing esf|d4|crc4|fas

Setting the Encoding Method

This command sets the encoding method used with T1 and E1 lines. Table 10-7 explains
the encoding method options.

Description
European ISDN PRI standard.
France—older switch.
France—older switch.
Germany—older switch.
Japan.
Japan.
Australia. To use this switch type, set the port type to network
hardwired, set the directory number for the port appropriately,
and reset the port.
T1 and E1 Framing Format Options
Description
Line0 through Line3 (T1), Line0 through Line2 (E1).
Extended superframe. This is the default format for T1 lines.
D4 framing, an alternative format for T1 lines.
Cyclic redundancy check 4. This is the default format for E1
lines.
Frame Alignment Signal, an alternative format for E1 lines.
T1 and E1 Encoding Method Options
Description
Line0 through Line3 (T1), Line0 through Line2 (E1).
Bipolar 8-zero substitution. This is the default for T1 lines.
Alternate mark inversion.
High-density bipolar 3. This is the default for E1 lines.
