You cannot configure port 7 or 8 on a WX1200 switch, or any gigabit
Ethernet port, as a MAP port. To manage a MAP access point on a
WX4400 switch, configure a Distributed MAP connection on the switch.
(See "Configuring an Indirectly Connected MAP" on page 142.)
To set the port type for MAP access ports, use the following command:
set port type ap port-list
model {ap2750 |ap7250 | ap8250 | ap8750 | mp-52 | mp-101 |
mp-122 | mp-241 | mp-252 | mp-262 | mp-341 | mp-352 | mp-372}
poe {enable | disable} [radiotype {11a | 11b | 11g}]
You must specify the MAP model and the PoE state.
MAP models MP-101 and MP-122 have been discontinued but are still
supported by the command.
For models AP8750, MP-101, MP-241, and MP-341, you can specify one
of the following for the radio type:
11a — 802.11a
11b — 802.11b
11g — 802.11g (AP2750, MP-241 and MP-341 only)
The AP2750 MAP access point as well as the MAP access point models
MP-241 and MP-341 have a single radio that can be configured for
802.11a or 802.11b/g. The AP7250 and AP8250 have a single radio that
is always 802.11b/g. MAP models AP8750, MP-52, MP-252, MP-262,
and MP-352 have two radios. One radio is always 802.11a. The other
radio is 802.11b/g, but can be configured for 802.11b or 802.11g
exclusively. If the country of operation specified by the set system
countrycode command does not allow 802.11g, the default is 802.11b.
Note that for the AP8750, radio 1 is always fixed to 802.11b/g; radio 2 is
always fixed to 802.11a.
All MAP models except the MP-372, AP2750, AP7250, AP8250, and
AP8750 have been discontinued but are still supported by the command.
MAP model MP-262 requires an external antenna for the 802.11b/g
radio. You must specify the antenna model. MP-341 and MP-352 have an
internal 802.11b/g antenna as well as a connector for an external
antenna, so use of an external antenna is optional on these models. The
MP-372 also has a connector for an optional external 802.11a antenna.
To specify the antenna model, use the
Configuring MAP Access Points
set {ap | dap} radio
