8.1 Problems with the S140
In the case of a problem with the S140, contact the service department and discuss the
steps to be taken. Depending on the outcome of this discussion, you may be required to
carry out the following tasks:
Take a system dump in the case of an inexplicable system failure.

Disable defective I/O processor if several I/O processors are used.

You can continue processing with the rest of the system.
If one of the IOP, MCU, SVP, SCI, SPC, or PCI system components is defective, the

service department must carry out the necessary corrective measures.
