4-cylinder gasoline engine M 270
The familiar 4-cylinder engine M 270 with 1.6 liter
displacement is now joined by a 2 liter variant with
greater output and higher torque.

The M 270 engine with 2.0 liter displacement
differs from the 1.6 liter variant as follows:
• Cylinder head, crankshaft, pistons, connecting
rod, oil baffle and turbocharger have all been
adapted to the larger displacement
• Vibration damper on front crankshaft (instead of
belt pulley)
• Lanchester dynamic balancer bolted to
crankcase
• Vent line for wide open throttle with pressure
limiting valve
• Engine wiring harness with 3-pin connection for
A/C compressor
