The sporty appearance of the exterior is continued
into the interior. All trim piece surfaces are electro-
plated in a silver shadow finish.
The free standing display with Audio 20 and
COMAND on offer contains a black, high-gloss
display bezel in piano black and a continuous frame
in silver shadow finish.
In combination with the automatic transmission,
gear selection is made using the gearshift lever on
the steering wheel. The discontinuation of the
selector lever means that this area is now used by
another stowage compartment with cover.
Standard equipment in the new A-Class includes
the electric parking brake, which in turn means that
the hand brake lever between the front seats is no
longer installed. The space gained by this measure
enabled the stowage compartments to be
increased in size.

Multifunction control lever and cruise control
lever
To optimize the accessibility and visibility of the
multifunction control lever on the steering column
tube/steering wheel, it has been relocated from the
9 o'clock position to the 10 o'clock position, which
is more easily visible. The cruise control lever has
been moved to the 8 o'clock position (lower than
the previous turn signal position) and thus remains
visible between the steering wheel spokes (with
steering wheel in normal driving position).
