The telematics in model series 176 are based on
the telematics generation 4.5 in the 2nd genera-
tion. It provides the following added-value func-
tions, in particular:
For the ECE:
• Audio 5 USB with the option to connect an
iPhone (SA)
• Becker MAP PILOT portable navigation system
for Audio 20
• Free standing, remote central display for Audio
20 and COMAND online
• DAB twin tuner with DAB-FM switchover
• Internet connectivity for free surfing and use of
Mercedes-Benz-specific service using COMAND
For Japan version (code 498):
• COMAND (code 526) incl. preinstallation for TV
and navigation (code 862); TV and navigation
are offered locally as a dealer option

The Becker MAP PILOT navigation module
extends the Audio 20 radio into a fully functional
navigation unit and is available as special equip-
ment.

Bluetooth audio
This new function in the A-Class enables the
Audio 20/COMAND audio signals to be received by
external equipment over Bluetooth
takes place via the speakers of the audio system.
External devices must be authorized as an audio
source. The prerequisite is that the device must
support Audio Video Remote Control Profile
(AVRCP) or Advanced Audio Distribution Profile
(A2DP). Communication takes place via the Blue-

tooth antenna in the center console behind the
audio equipment.
The display of information about the audio data on
the Audio/COMAND display and multifunction
display of the instrument cluster depends on the
transmission profile supported.
