7.2

Initial commissioning

When first starting up your CPU 1515SP PC, passwords, IP addresses and some basic
settings are queried.
Then, the operating system which is pre-installed on the CFast card is set up automatically
on the device.
Note
Initial commissioning is not possible with a Multitouch panel, because the Multitouch drivers
are not available until after the installation of the operating system.
Requirements
● The CPU 1515SP PC is installed.
● The CFast card is inserted.
● No data carriers are connected via USB.
● The following hardware is available: A monitor, a USB keyboard, a USB mouse
Procedure
NOTICE
Faulty installation
If you change the default values in the BIOS setup or switch off the device during the
installation process, the installation is faulty and the operating system is not installed
properly. The operational reliability of the device and the plant is compromised.
Do not switch off the device at any time during the installation process. Do not change the
default values in the BIOS setup.
1. Connect a monitor using a DVI-I cable.
2. Connect a keyboard and a mouse to the CPU via USB.
3. Connect the power supply.
→ The PWR LED lights up yellow first, then green.
→ The device carries out the hardware initialization.
4. Wait until the Siemens logo disappears from the screen.
5. Follow the instructions on the screen to configure the device
Note
Restart the device after the operating system has been set up.
