6. While supporting the seat, remove the bolt and
nut that secure the seat cable stop to the seat box
assembly (Fig. 076).

7. Remove the cotter pin from the seat pivot rod. Slide
the seat pivot rod out and remove the seat from the
machine (Fig. 077).

8. Remove the left hand fender and fuel tank. Refer to
"Left Hand Fender and Fuel Tank Removal" on page
3-7.
9. Remove the right hand fender. Refer to "Right Hand
Fender Removal" on page 3-14.
10. Remove the two screws and washers securing the
right hand lever grip to the lever mount post (Fig.
078).

11. Repeat the previous step to remove the left hand
lever grip.
