6.1.2 Using the automatic document feeder

If the MFAXN light is OFF, turn it ON by pressing
MFAXN.

Set the original (page 20).

If necessary, change the resolution and contrast
according to the type of document.

Dial the fax number.

When a fax tone is heard:
Press MSTARTN.
When the other party answers your call:
Lift the handset and ask them to press their start
button. When the fax tone is heard, press MSTARTN.
Note:
R After pressing MSTARTN, you can replace the
handset.
R To stop sending, see page 78.
R Do not open the document cover when sending a fax
with the automatic document feeder.
Pre-dialling a fax number
1. Enter the fax number.

6.2 Storing items for the
one-touch dial feature and
phonebook
The unit provides the one-touch dial feature (6 items) and
phonebook (100 items).
R Station 1 and 2 can be used alternatively as
broadcast keys (page 42).

6.2.1 Storing one-touch dial item

Press MMENUN repeatedly to display "PHONEBOOK
SET".

Select the desired station key.
For station 1-2:
1. Press one of the station keys.
2. Press MCN or MDN repeatedly to select "DIAL
MODE". A MSETN
For station 3:
Press the station key.
For station 4-6:
Press MLOWERN, then press one of the station keys.

Enter the name, up to 16 characters (see page 76

Enter the telephone number, up to 32 digits. A
