Steering Stem Inspection; Ball Race Replacement; Bottom Cone Race Replacement - Honda 1988 Z50R Service Manual

FRONT WH EELIBRAKE / SUSPENSION / STEERI NG
INSPECTION
Inspect the steel balls, cone races and ball races f or wear or
damage and replace if necessary.
BALL RACE REPLACEMENT
Remove the top and bottom ball races.

Drive new top and bottom ball races into the steering head.

BOTTOM CONE RACE REPLACEMENT
Remove the bottom cone race and dust seal.
Apply grease to the dust seal and install it onto the steering stem.
Press the bottom cone race onto the steering stem using t he steer-
ing stem driver.
