6.11 External frost protection

• Connect the frost thermostat between ter-
minals 1 and 2 as shown in Fig. 6.28 or
Fig. 6.29.
Do not connect live wires to terminals to
which the frost thermostat must be con-
nected.

6.12 Connecting a system boiler to
a cylinder
Two schematic wiring diagrams are given in
this section showing two possible ways to
connect an external programmer to a mid-
position diverter valve to provide independ-
ent timed and thermostatic control of heat-
ing and hot water.
Fig. 6.30 and Fig. 6.31 are divided in two
parts. The upper shows the single compo-
nents used on the diagrams with their con-
nection to the 10 way junction box. The bold
numbers represent the terminal of the junc-
tion box where the component must be con-
nected to.
The lower part shows how to realize a sys-
tem that provides independent timed and
thermostatic control of heating and hot wa-
ter.
In Fig. 6.30 the boiler is permanently con-
nected to the main supply. The boiler op-
eration is controlled by the external control
terminal block.
In Fig. 6.31 the boiler is not permanently
connected to the supply line. The boiler op-
eration is controlled by switching the mains
