Using the Self-Cleaning Oven
Setting the Oven Control for Self-Cleaning
Because of the very high temperatures used to clean the oven, the oven door must be locked during self-cleaning. The cleaning
time can be set for 2 hours of cleaning for light soiling, or up to 4 hours for heavy soiling. Use 3 hours for normal cleaning.
NOTE: The self-clean cycle can only be started from the OFF position, not from the BAKE or BROIL position.
How to set the oven control for Self-Cleaning
1. Read and follow the instructions in "BEFORE THE
SELF-CLEAN CYCLE".
2. With the oven door
closed, slide the latch
handle to the right as
far as it will go.
(Never force the latch handle or you could damage the
locking mechanism.)
3. PUSH and turn the SELECTOR
knob from the OFF position to the
CLEAN position.
4. The display will show "Cln" to
indicate that self-cleaning mode
has been selected.

ON" indicator light will go out, "END" will be
displayed, but the "COOK TIME" indicator will remain
on.
12. Turn the SELECTOR knob to the OFF position, and the
"COOK TIME" indicator will go out, but the oven door
cannot be opened until the oven has cooled down.
13. After waiting an
additional hour for the
oven to cool down,
slide the latch handle
to the left, back to the
unlocked position.
NOTE: To cancel the self-clean cycle after it has started,
turn the SELECTOR knob to OFF . Allow the oven to cool
down before attempting to unlatch the door.
