PERIODIC MAINTENANCE

BRAKE PAD

• Inspect the brake pads for wear. If the brake pads are worn,
replace them with new ones. (!16-5)
NOTE:
* Pump the brake lever and pedal several times to restore the
brake pads after replacing the brake pads.
* Replace both right and left pads together when replacing the
brake pads.

FRONT BRAKE LEVER ADJUSTMENT

Adjust the brake lever position as follows:
• Loosen the lock-nut 1.
• Turn in or out adjuster 2 to obtain the proper brake lever
position.
• The standard adjuster length A is from 11 – 15 mm (0.4 – 0.6 in).
• Tighten the lock-nut 1.

BRAKE PEDAL HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

Adjust the rear brake pedal height as follows:
• Loosen the lock-nut 1.
• Adjust the brake pedal height A by turning the adjuster 2 to
locate the pedal 0 – 10 mm (0 – 0.39 in) below the top face of
the footrest.
• Tighten the lock-nut 1.
# Brake pedal height A: 0 – 10 mm (0 – 0.39 in)
$ Master cylinder rod lock-nut: 6 N·m (0.6 kgf-m, 4.5 lb-ft)
11 – 15 mm (0.4 – 0.6 in)
