This section of the chapter explains how to

install a modem at a DIMENSION workstation. Only
one modem may be installed at each workstation,
and the modem must use a serial interface compati-
ble with the Electronic Industries Association
RS-232C standard.
Most commonly available modems meet this industry
specification; however, if you are in doubt, you
should read your modem owner ' s manual.
