1. Bad image quality with washed out or
incorrect colours is normally down to the
scanner needing normalisation.
Insert the white target into the scanner with
the matt side face up.
Open the Utilities program, and on the front
page, press Full Normalisation and allow the
process to complete.

2. When the image between 2 CIS points has a
step, it is because the scanner needs to be
stitched, an electrical adjustment for making
the scanner see an image equally across all
the CIS arrays.
Open the Utilities program and stitch the
scanner as described in the service manual.
