    SC Scanner Instruction Manual Tools Required To maintain the SC Scanner the tools listed below are required. The tools are generally available; they are not the responsibility of Colortrac to supply. 1. Wristband 2. Pencil   Anti-static and cable.

  • Page 6 SC Scanner Instruction Manual 3. Use a Medium Pozi-drive screwdriver to remove the 5 x M5 screws from the Left End Cover. 4. Remove the Left End Cover and store in a safe place. 5. Open the Lid Assembly by releasing the Latches at either end of the scanner.
  • Page 7 SC Scanner Instruction Manual 7. Gently lever the screw driver by nudging it back at its top to release the latch. NOTE: When removing the cover be extremely careful not to apply to much force. 8. Gently pull the whole cover up, freeing it from the extrusion.

(When replacing the older style Hold Up Roller, with the newer version) If the Holdup Roller Support Bar is fitted, remove and disguard.

  • Page 15 SC Scanner Instruction Manual 34. For the SC42, fit the newer style short Holdup Roller Support Bar (p/n: 10H154) (sold separately) 35. Remove the bearing from the Hold Up Roller Unit. 36. When replacing, make sure the curvature of the Spring Cap is aligned ready for the bearing.
  • Page 16 SC Scanner Instruction Manual 38. Fit the Hold Up Roller Unit Shaft into the bearing in the Right End Plate. 39. Gently lower the Hold Up Roller Unit into place, making sure not to damage its sleaving. 40. Rotate the Hold Up Roller Unit until the threaded hole is accessible.
  • Page 17 SC Scanner Instruction Manual 42. It may be necessary to use the Allen Key to help line up the holes to make it easier for refitting the screw 43. Refit the M3 CSK screw to hold the Hold Up Rollershaft to the Hold Up Roller Unit Collar.
  • Page 18 SC Scanner Instruction Manual 46. Refit the Lower Covers, starting at one end. 47. Ensure the earthing brush at the rear is not trapped under the cover. 48. Refit the remaining Lower Covers, remembering to position those with cut-outs for the paper sensors are in the correct position.

Close the Lid Assembly making sure both Lid Latches lock securely. 52. Refit the Drive Pulley onto the Hold Up Rollershaft, making sure it is pressed fully in place.
  • Page 20 SC Scanner Instruction Manual 53. Refit the Circlip to hold the Drive Pulley onto the Hold Up Rollershaft. 54. Using pliers, press the Circlip fully on to stop the Drive Pulley from coming off. 55. Replace the Drive Roller Timing Belt, position around the Rear Drive Roller Pulley and then the Hold Up Roller Unit Pulley.
  • Page 21 SC Scanner Instruction Manual 56. Make sure the Drive Roller Timing Belt goes around the part of the Rear Drive Roller Pulley nearest the End Plate. 57. Make sure the Drive Roller Timing Belt goes over the 2 larger pulleys, and over the top of the Drive Roller Timing Belt Tension Bar.
