Chapter 19. Attaching to a Windows 2000 host

This chapter provides instructions, requirements and considerations for attaching a
Windows 2000 host system to a storage unit.

Attaching with fibre-channel adapters

This section provides information for attaching a storage unit to a Windows 2000
host system with fibre-channel adapters. It also describes how to install, download
and configure the adapter cards.

Supported fibre-channel adapters for Windows 2000

This section lists the supported fibre-channel adapters for the Windows 2000 host
system.
The following adapters are supported for the Windows 2000 host System:
v Emulex LP9002L adapter card
v Emulex LP9002DC adapter card
v Emulex LP9402DC adapter card
v Emulex LP9802 adapter card
v Emulex LP10000 adapter card
v Emulex LP10000DC adapter card
v Netfinity adapter card
v QLogic QLA2310FL adapter card
v QLogic QLA2340FL adapter card
v QLogic QLA2342FL adapter card
The storage unit supports eServer BladeCenter HS20 with blades 8678, 8832, and
8839 in a Windows 2000, 32-bit environment.
The storage unit supports both direct and fabric attachment to the eServer
BladeCenter JS20 when operating with AIX 5.2H, or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0,
or Linux SLES 8 or 9.

This section lists the requirements for attaching the storage unit to your host
system.
