This section describes setting up the storage unit to attach to an HP AlphaServer
OpenVMS host system with fibre-channel adapters.
Adding or modifying AlphaServer fibre-channel connections for the
OpenVMS host
To create, remove, or modify the AlphaServer connections, use the IBM
TotalStorage DS Storage Manager. When you create a connection, it is necessary
to specify the worldwide port name of the host connection. See "Locating the
worldwide port name (WWPN)," on page 211 for procedures on how to locate the
WWPN.

Defining OpenVMS fibre-channel adapters to the storage unit

This section lists the steps you must perform to define OpenVMS fibre-channel
adapters to the storage unit.
You must create a storage complex before defining each host adapter to the
storage unit. Use the IBM TotalStorage DS Storage Manager to create a storage
complex. You can use the following menu path: click Real-time manager, click
Manage hardware, click Storage complexes.
To define each host adapter to the storage unit, perform the following steps using
the IBM TotalStorage DS Storage Manager.
Note: These instructions assume that you are familiar with the IBM TotalStorage
1. Logon to the IBM TotalStorage DS Storage Manager and click Real-time
2. From the Select action box, click Create, then click Go.
3. From the General host information screen, complete the following fields for
output from the wwidmgr command.
