SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Work area safety
1– Keep the working area clean and well lit. Untidy or dark areas are conducive to accidents .
2– Do not operate electrical tools in an explosive atmosphere, for example where there are
flammable liquids, gases or dust. Electrical tools produce sparks which can ignite dust or smoke .
3– Keep children and adults away while you are using the tool. Distractions can cause you to lose
control of the tool .
Electrical safety
1– Do not expose tools to the rain or damp conditions. Water penetrating a tool will increase the risk of
electric shock .
2– Do not misuse the power cord. Never use the power cord to carry, pull or disconnect the tool.
Keep the power cord away from heat, lubricant, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or tangled
cords increase the risk of electric shock .
Personal safety
1– Remain vigilant, watch what you are doing and use common sense when using the tool. Do not
use a tool when you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. Temporary lack
of awareness while using the tool can result in serious injury .
2– Wear safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment such as dust masks, non-slip
safety shoes, helmets or acoustic protection used in appropriate conditions will reduce the risk of injury .
3– Avoid untimely starting of the tool. Make sure the switch is in the 'off' position before connecting
the tool to the mains and/or battery pack, picking it up or carrying it. Carrying the tools with your
finger on the switch or connecting tools with the switch in the 'on' position can cause accidents.
4– Remove any adjusting wrench before switching on the tool. A wrench left attached to a rotating part
can cause injury .
5– Do not rush. Maintain the correct position and balance at all times. This helps control the tool in
case of unexpected situations .
6– Dress appropriately. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep hair, clothing and gloves away
from moving parts. Loose clothing, jewellery or long hair can get caught in moving parts .
Tool usage and maintenance
1– Do not force the tool. Use the tool adapted to your application. The adapted tool will do a better and
safer job, in accordance with the purpose for which it was designed .
2– Do not use the tool if the switch does not allow switching between on and off positions. Any tool
which cannot be controlled by the switch is hazardous and should be repaired .
3– Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or battery pack prior to any adjustment, change
of accessories or before putting the tool away. These preventive safety measures reduce the risk of
starting the tool accidentally .
4– When not in use, keep tools out of reach of children, and do not allow people to use the tool
if they do not know how to use it and if they are not familiar with these instructions. Tools are
dangerous for inexperienced users .
5– Comply with the tool servicing instructions. Check that the moving parts are not out of alignment
or jammed, that there are no broken parts or that there is no other condition which could affect the
operation of the tool. In case of damage, get the tool repaired before using it. Many accidents are due
to poorly maintained tools .
