Fuel Filter

This diesel-powered ATV is equipped
with a high efficiency fuel filter. The fuel
filter should be changed in accordance
with the maintenance schedule or more
often if operated under severe conditions
or winter operation. To change the fuel
filter, use the following procedure.
1. Remove the right front fender splash
panel; then using an appropriate filter
wrench, remove the fuel filter.

2. Apply a light coat of oil to the seal
ring of the new fuel filter; then install
the filter. Tighten until the seal ring
contacts the filter head; then tighten
an additional ¾ turn.
3. Depress and release the manual
primer pump to charge the fuel filter
and purge any air from the system.
NOTE: Cycle the manual primer
pump until the lever becomes firm
and resistance is observed. The
system will bleed itself through the
tank return circuit.
4. Check for any fuel leaks; then start
the engine and check for normal
engine operation.

Idle RPM

Do not attempt to make engine idle RPM
adjustments on the diesel engine. If
engine adjustments are necessary, take
the ATV to an authorized Arctic Cat ATV
dealer. The diesel engine requires special
tools and procedures for which your
authorized Arctic Cat ATV dealer is
equipped and trained.
Improper adjustment of a diesel
engine governor could cause over-
speed or runaway resulting in severe
injury or death.
Throttle Cable
Adjustment
To adjust the throttle cable free-play:
1. Loosen the jam nut from the throttle
cable adjuster.
2. Slide the rubber boot away and turn the
adjuster until the throttle lever has
proper free-play of 3-6 mm (1/8-1/4 in.).
