ALLOW THE ENGINE OIL TO CIRCULATE
BEFORE RIDING
Allow sufficient idling time after warm or cold
engine start-up before applying load or rev­
ving the engine. This allows time for the
lubricating oil to reach all critical engine
components.
OBSERVE YOUR FIRST AND MOST CRITICAL
SERVICE
The initial service (1000 km maintenance) is
the most important service your motorcycle
will receive. During break-in
operation,
all of
the engine components will have mated
together and seated
.
Maintenance required
as part of the initial service includes correc­
tion of all
adjustments,
tightening of all fas­
teners and replacement of dirty oil. Timely
performance of this service will help make
sure you get the best service life and perfor­
mance from the
engine.
NOTE: The toDD km (600 miles) service
should be performed as outlined in
the
INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE
section
of this Owner's Manual. Pay particular
atten­
tion to the CAUTION and WARNING in
that
section.
