"OFF" POSITION
~
Turn the lever to
the
"OFF"
position when­
ever stopping the engine for longer than a
few minutes.
NOTE: If the motorcycle has run out of fuel
or has been stored for an extended period,
there may not be any gasoline in the carbu­
retors.
In this
situation,
the fuel pump can be
operated to supply fuel to the
carburetors.
To operate the fuel
pump,
tum the ignition
switch to the
"ON"
position and place the
engine stop switch in the
"0
"
position.
Place the transmission in neutral and the
fuel valve in the
"ON"
or if necessary the
"RES" position. Press the starter button. The
carburetors will fill
with gasoline after
approximately 1 0 seconds of fuel pump
operation.

valve to the
"OFF"

lion after
turning
off
the
engine.
CHOKE
HANDLE
The carburetors of this motorcycle are
equipped with a cho ke system to provide
easy starting
.
When starting a cold engine,
turn the choke handle clockwise
.
The choke
system will operate only when the throttle is
in
the
closed position as opening the throttle
will bypass the choke system
.

this
manual for the engine starting proce­
dure.
