Sand (25 Lbs) for filling the Sand/Waterbox: Your Fire Sense XL Series patio heater comes standard with an empty PVC Sand/Waterbox container which is pre-assembled to the heater base. Once filled with sand, this weighted container will add approximately 25 lbs.

ASSEMBLY Step 1 Sand/Waterbox assembly: Your XL Series patio heater comes standard with an empty PVC Sand/Waterbox container which is preassembled to the heater base. Once filled with sand and topped off with water/windshield washer fluid, this weighted container will add approximately 30 Lbs. to the base of the heater providing extra stability and safety. ASSEMBLY 2) Insert 2) M6x12 Bolts (J) through the holes in each bracket and through the holes in the base. 3) Attach an M6 flat washer (K) and an M6 nut (L) to the end of each bolt on the underside of the base and tighten with a wrench. TIP: You may find it easier to attach the cylinder brackets by first removing the preassembled M8x25 cylinder bolts (I) from the brackets.

ASSEMBLY Step 4: Reassemble the fully-filled Sand/Waterbox container to the heater base: Hardware used: None (Note: All hardware used to complete Step 4 was originally preassembled to the components) Position the heater base (which is now fully assembled with the wheels and cylinder brackets attached) over the fully filled Sand/Waterbox and reinstall the 4 bolts and nuts which were removed during step #1.

ASSEMBLY Step 6: Install post support bracket to the top of the 3 leg supports Hardware Used: A: Qt 6) M6x30 Bolt B: Qt 6) M6 Flat Washer C: Qt 6) M6 Nut M: Qt 6) M6 Lock Washer a) Place the Post Support Bracket (7) on top of the 3 assembled Support Legs and align the holes in the Post Support with the holes in the Support Legs.

ASSEMBLY Step 8: Attach the top section of 2-pc post to the bottom section Hardware Used: None Attach the top section of the 2-pc post assembly to the bottom section by screwing the top section clockwise onto the bottom section of the post assembly until the connection is tight.

ASSEMBLY Step 11: Install burner head assembly to the top of the post Tip: A safe and sturdy ladder will come in handy for the remaining installation steps Hardware Used: E: Qt 3) M8x90 Barrel Bolts a) Raise the table assembly (if installed in step 10) to approx. 6” below the top of the post.

ASSEMBLY Step 13: Install the Assembled Reflector Dome to the top of the Burner Head Assembly Hardware Used: F: Qt 3) M8 Wing Nut G: Qt 6) M8 Flat Washer a) While supporting the heater, slide 1) M8 Flat Washer (G) over each of the 3 Barrel Bolts (E) on the top of the Head Assembly, then slide the assembled Reflector over the 3 Barrel Bolts.
ASSEMBLY Step 15: Secure the bottom of the LP Tank/Cylinder to the Base of the Heater Hardware Used: None Place the LP Tank/Cylinder onto the base of the heater and secure the Base to the Tank by evenly tightening the 3) M8x25 Bolts (I) which were originally preassembled to the 3 LPG Cylinder Brackets (H) which were thereafter assembled to the inside floor of the base during Step #2.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Leak Test 1. Make 2-3 oz. of leak test solution (one part liquid dishwashing detergent and three parts water). 2. Apply several drops of solution where hose attaches to regulator. 3. Apply several drops of solution where regulator connects to cylinder. 4.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Lighting: NOTE: NOTE: For initial start-up or after any cylinder change, hold the Control Knob in for 2 minutes to purge air from all gas lines before proceeding. When lighting the burner make sure that the Control Knob is held in while pressing the igniter button.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE Heater makes popping noise. Spiders and insects can nest in burner or orifices. This dangerous condition can damage heater and render it unsafe for use. Clean burner holes by using a heavy-duty pipe cleaner. Compressed air may help clear away smaller particles.
