Modes of Operation
The Telephone Router can operate in two modes, depending on the license key it has installed.
1. RS232 serial output mode – Messages that are received by the Telephone Router can be sent out
using the TAP protocol via the serial port into any compatible device such as a TITAN SmartPage‐
E or TITAN Master Controller. (distributed mode license key not installed)
2. Distributed mode – uses XML over IP to connect to a TITAN Master Controller unit. The
advantage with this is many slave modules can connect to one master unit so that the database
is stored in one location. (distributed mode license key installed)
