Telephone Router ABOUT THE TELEPHONE ROUTER Introduction The TITAN Telephone Router module is a multiport IVR (interactive voice response) device that allows messages to be dispatched in one of a variety of messaging protocols. Users call into the Telephone Router module via a telephone handset and follow voice prompts in order to initiate numeric paging messages, alphanumeric common messages or voice paging. The methods of message dispatch can vary from a local voice and data paging transmitter, an RS‐232 based messaging protocol and a LAN connection. ...
In order to view the user interface, you must first connect to the Telephone Router via its Ethernet port. There are two ways that you can connect to the unit. 1. Directly with a PC or laptop using the supplied crossover Ethernet cable (red rj45 ‐ rj45). 2. By connecting the unit to a local area network (LAN) by connecting it to a spare port or to a switch/hub, using the supplied straight through Ethernet cable (blue rj45 ‐ rj45). Once you have plugged in the unit you can use a utility called “IPDiscover” to locate your Telephone Router on the network and start a web session with the unit. This program is included on the CD included in the package. Run the program and you will see all TITAN products on the network. NOTE: DHCP is enabled by default. If no DHCP server is found on the network, the default IP of 192.168.0.1 will be used. In the example above, there is a Telephone Router on the network at IP Address 192.168.100.60. IP Settings Next, it is a good idea to check that the IP settings of the unit are suitable. Click Settings ‐> IP Settings. • Host name – Here you can give your Telephone Router a name on the network. This name will show up in the IPDiscover utility. Giving a unique name allows multiple IP based TITAN devices to be easily located and managed. • FTP server enabled – Your Telephone Router contains a simple ftp server which can be used to transfer files to the unit. Maint is the only user which has access to this server. This is usually best left set to No for security purposes. • DHCP client enabled – By default this option is set to Yes which means that upon powerup your Telephone Router will attempt to contact a DHCP server on the network that it is connected to in order to gain an IP Address.
