IP Settings
Next, it is a good idea to check that the IP settings of the unit are suitable. Click Settings ‐> IP Settings.
•
Host name – Here you can give your Telephone Router a name on the network. This
name will show up in the IPDiscover utility. Giving a unique name allows multiple IP
based TITAN devices to be easily located and managed.
•
FTP server enabled – Your Telephone Router contains a simple ftp server which can
be used to transfer files to the unit. Maint is the only user which has access to this
server. This is usually best left set to No for security purposes.
•
DHCP client enabled – By default this option is set to Yes which means that upon
powerup your Telephone Router will attempt to contact a DHCP server on the
network that it is connected to in order to gain an IP Address. The supplied
IPDiscover utility can then be used to locate units on your network.
In some situations, such as if your network has no DHCP server or when interfacing
with a Master Controller or SmartPage‐E, the Telephone Router may need a fixed IP
Address. In this case you will need to fill in the IP Address, IP Mask, Default Gateway
and DNS field below.
