    Introduction Safety instructions Vitek shall not have any responsibility for any accident or damage that may incur during the use of the product. For your safety, we provide the following instructions regarding installation, cleaning, assembly/disassembly of the product. Please read carefully, and comply with the instructions. Before installation Comply with the following instructions to prevent fire, explosion, system failure or electrical shock. ~ Remove the power supply module before proceeding. ~ Check the input voltage (AC100V–AC240V) to the power supply module before connecting it. ~ Keep the product away from humidity. ~ Ensure that all devices connected to the product are properly earth-grounded. in operation mode Comply with the following instructions to prevent fire, explosion, system failure or electric shock. ~ if you need to open the cover, consult with an authorized Vitek service technician. ~ Do not connect multiple devices to a single power outlet. ~ Keep the product away from dust or combustible substances (ex: propane gas). ~ Do not touch product with wet hands. ~ Do not insert anything into the vent of the ventilation system. ~ Do not apply excessive force when unplugging the power cord. Disassembly & Cleaning ~ When cleaning the surface, use a dry cloth. ~ Do not wipe the product using water, paint thinner or organic solvents. ~ Do not dismantle, repair or modify the product on your own.     Change the remote control ID The remote control will only function if the Remote Control iD matches with that specified on the DVR. if multiple DVRs are installed at one location and you would like to have just a single remote control, use the iD button to set the remote control iD. Only the iD-matching DVR can be controlled. From <MEnU> - <SySTEM SETUP> - <SySTEM> - <COnTROL DEViCE> under the System Setup menu, set the <REMOTE COnTROLLER iD> and press <APPLy>. Select between 00 and 99. For more details, refer to <SySTEM SETUP>. Press the [iD] button on the remote control. The default remote control iD is 00. Use the number buttons to provide a two-digit iD. if you want to enter 01, for instance, enter the number 0 and 1 in sequence. To check if the remote control iD is set properly, manipulate the remote control and see if the DVR responds. To reset the iD to 00, press and hold the [iD] button.

    VT-SRL Installation Replacing HDD When a hard drive is full or problematic, it is possible to replace it yourself. 4-Channel Model Remove the screw from the bracket on the bottom of the DVR. Hold the HDD bracket with your finger as shown in the figure and pull it to separate it from the DVR.
  • Page 13 install the HDD to the bracket (see figure). When installing the HDD, make sure to install in the correct direction. insert the bracket back into the DVR. Secure the bracket by fastening the screw.

Hold the HDD bracket with your finger as shown in the figure and pull it to separate it from the DVR. install the HDD to the bracket (see figure) When installing the HDD, make sure to install in the correct direction.

    Connecting to an external device Connecting to a Monitor This product supports 1080p 60 Hz HDMi monitors and regular monitors that support DVi and VgA inputs. Connect an AUDIO HDMi cable to the port on the product’s rear bottom, or connect an HDMi-DVi converter cable to connect a DVi monitor. Or, use VgA cable to connect the product with a VgA monitor. • Once the product is set for nTSC or PAL output, connect cameras of the corresponding video standard for proper operations. AUDIO AUDIO ALARM IN ALARM IN RELAY RS4 Setting the product to nTSC or PAL decides available display output modes too. The monitor’s displaying operates at 50Hz if the product has been set to PAL output and the connected monitor supports both 50Hz and 60 Hz inputs. For nTSC setting, it works at 60 Hz. • Make sure to connect the product to a monitor that supports 1920x1080 at 60Hz.     VT-SRE Installation Replacing HDD When an HDD is full or problematic, it is possible to replace it yourself. If installed 2 HDD drives Below illustrations are based on the 16-channel model. Remove screws on the DVR’s rear and sides. Pull the cover case forward to separate it. VID EO AU DIO RS -48 RS -23 Remove screws on the hard drive bracket to separate it from the main unit. Once the bracket is separated, remove screws on both sides of the HDD drive to be separated and replaced. install the new HDD and fix screws on both sides. When installing the HDD, make sure to install in the correct direction.

    Connecting to an external device Connecting to the monitor This product supports 1080p 60 Hz HDMi monitors and regular monitors that support DVi and VgA inputs. Connect an HDMi cable to the port on the product’s rear bottom, or connect an HDMi-DVi converter cable to connect a DVi monitor. Or, use VgA cable to connect the product with a VgA monitor. RS485 RS232 RELAY ALARM • Once the product is set for nTSC or PAL output, connect cameras of the corresponding video standard for proper operations. Setting the product to nTSC or PAL decides available display output modes too. WAN(UPLINK) if set to PAL, the monitor must be able to display at 50Hz.     VT-SRP Installation Replacing HDD When a HDD is full or problematic, it is possible to replace it yourself. Replacing All 5 Hard Drives Below illustrations are based on the 16-channel model. Remove the 2 screws on both ends of DVR. Pull the front faceplate of the unit forward to separate it. Hold the middle section of HDD bracket's handle with index finger and pull it forward while supporting the bracket handle with your thumb and middle finger as shown in the illustration.

    System Setting Camera Setting you can configure the display settings of: camera title, hidden option, motion and camera type. CAMERA TITLE you can change the camera iD that is displayed on the screen. From <MEnU> - <SySTEM SETUP> - <CAMERA>, select <CAMERA TiTLE>. Use the [▲▼◀▶/EnTER] buttons on the remote control or use the mouse to select a channel that you want to rename. Alternatively, simply double-click the camera to rename from the top left corner. Once the virtual keyboard appeared, select desired alphanumeric characters to complete your input, and press the <OK> button. The <SHiFT> key toggles letter case. To apply the change, click <APPLy> at the bottom of the screen. When done, press the [ExiT] button on the remote control or click <CLOSE> in the lower screen. A confirmation message appears and you will return to the previous menu. For the SRE and SRP models, camera titles can be up to 16 characters, combining numbers and upper/lower case letters. (no spaces). For the SRL model, camera titles can be up to 8 characters. Image Setup you can adjust the brightness, contrast, color, and quality setting of each channel’s camera. From <MEnU> - <SySTEM SETUP> - <CAMERA>, select <iMAgE SETUP>. Use [▲▼◀▶/EnTER] buttons of the remote control or mouse to edit settings. To apply your changes, click <APPLy> button.     Crop Setting On the SRE/SRPmodels you can crop camera images. From <MEnU> - <SySTEM SETUP> - <CAMERA>, <iMAgE SETUP>, select <CROP SETTing>. Select the channel you wish to crop, then in the BOx POSiTiOn section use the “-“ and “+” and directional arrows to move the crop box. When finished, turn OPERATiOn to On. To apply your changes, click <APPLy> button. Once completed, press the [ExiT] button of the remote control or click the <CLOSE> button on the bottom of the screen. A confirmation dialog appears and returns to the previous menu. Covert Setup you can make selected cameras "covert" so that specific users or user groups can not view the camera images. From <MEnU> - <SySTEM SETUP> - <CAMERA>, select <COVERT SETUP>. Use the [▲▼◀▶/EnTER] buttons on the remote control or use the mouse to select a covert channel(s) for a specific user group. i ADMin, MAnAgER, USER : Set them to <On>. The selected channel(s) will be covert from the applicable user account. i LOg OUT : Set it to <On>. When the user logs out, the current channel will be set to a covert channel. Use the [▲▼◀▶/EnTER] buttons on the remote control or use the mouse to specify the use of each option item. i ACTiVATiOn : turn on or off the motion sensor. i MARK : Set to <On> to display the motion detection indicator on each video tile. i SEnSiTiViTy : Set the sensitivity level of the motion sensor to either Daytime or nighttime. i EDiT AREA : Specify the motion detection area. To apply the change, click <APPLy> in the bottom of the screen. When done, press the [ExiT] button on the remote control or click <CLOSE> in the lower screen. Motion Area Setup From the motion sensor window, click <EDiT AREA> to display the area setup screen. Click <EDiT AREA> to move to the motion area setup screen. if using the remote control, press the [EnTER] button to initiate the process. Use the arrow buttons to move to a desired block and press [EnTER]. The area setup will begin. Then, use the arrow buttons to specify the area. Press [EnTER] to select/deselect the area. Alternatively, when using a mouse you can use the drag- and-drop method to specify or release the area. if you select the specified area again, it will be released. Red Block = Selected area. The screenshot above shows the entire screen selected. These blocks are what triggers the motion sensor.

    Press the [ExiT] button on the remote control or right- click any area to display the popup window as in the right picture. While the popup window is displayed, select <Sensitivity> to set the motion detection sensitivity of the channel currently selected. i Channel: Select the channel to set the motion sensitivity. - SEnSiTiViTy : 1(Low) ~ 30(High) - The higher the number is, the higher the sensitivity level becomes. i DAyTiME : specify the time period that will be considered as daytime. - DAyTiME : specify the <SEnSiTiViTy> for the daytime. - nigHTTiME : specify the <SEnSiTiViTy> for the nighttime. images recorded in a low contrast scene such as at night can cause severe noise, which can trigger motion events too often. if unwanted events occur frequently at night, you may want to reduce the motion sensitivity for the nighttime setting. PTZ Settings Set the camera iD, protocol, baud rate, and PTZ control speed for each channel. From <MEnU> - <SySTEM SETUP> - <CAMERA>, select <PTZ SETUP>. Use [▲▼◀▶/EnTER] buttons of the remote control or mouse to set protocol and baud rate of each channel. Refer to the camera's manual or consult your installation technician for further information about your PTZ camera. To apply your changes, click the <APPLy> button. Once the setup has been completed, press the [ExiT] button of the remote control or click <CLOSE> button on the bottom. Click <CAnCEL> to return to the previous menu. User will need to connect the PTZ camera(s) to the DVR's RS-485 ports on the rear panel.

When the confirmation message appears, click <OK>. The progress bar displays the progress of the firmware upgrade. When the upgrade is complete, reboot the system. • During the updating, never turn off the DVR forcibly or disconnect the USB storage device to avoid serious damage to the product or data. if required, consult your nearest service center for professional assistance.

    Once you have configured your RAiD hard-drive bay, you will need to initialize* the newly-created RAiD volume on a PC before connecting it to your DVR. if you skip this step, your DVR will not detect your RAiD bay. After initializing, you can connect to the RAiD Bay to the DVR. Consult your RAiD bay manual or manufacturer for information about how to initialize a disk” Connecting an External Disk/RAID Bay/Hard Drive Bay to the DVR Power down the DVR from <MEnU> - <SHUTDOWn>. Connect the external device to the DVR, then power up the DVR. After powering on the DVR, power up your external device (most external devices will be recognized during the boot initialization sequence of the DVR. if your external device is not recognized in this process, please refer to the manual or manufacturer of the external device for more information). Disk Operations you can configure the DVR to delete the HDD data automatically and set the overwrite options. you can also format the HDD. From <MEnU> - <SySTEM SETUP> - <STORAgE>, select <DiSK OPERATiOnS>. Use the [▲▼◀▶/EnTER] buttons on the remote control or use the mouse to set the operation conditions of the disk. i DiSK WRiTE MODE - if it is set to <OVERWRiTE>, the oldest existing data will be overwritten by the newest recording data. This occurrs once the HDD is full. - if the option is set to <OnCE> and the HDD is full, the DVR will stop recording and beep, or trigger a pre-defined output alarm. i RECORDing TiME LiMiT : The recording data will be deleted after the specified time of reservation. if it is set to <OFF>, this function will be disabled.

For example, even if you have set the minimum frequency to one minute and another event occurs less than one minute after the last email was sent, the email for the new event will be sent one minute after. Some email servers can block this feature if the email delivery cycle is too short, and classify it as spam. Contact your email service provider to adjust the minimum delivery cycle so that the server does not classify the email as spam. Provide a tag name in the <TAg> box. Provide the details of the reserved data in the <MEMO> box. Click <START>. you will return to the play screen with the backup progress. To stop the bookmarking, click <BOOKMARK( )>. To quit the bookmarking, click <STOP>. To continue with bookmarking, just click <COnTinUE>. Click <RESERVE>. you can export the reserved data to a connected storage device using the <ARCHiVE> menu. What is the <RESERVE> function? With the 'RESERVE' function, you can reserve data even in overwrite mode. This is useful if you want to backup data but you have no backup device available such as USB memory. When you have backed up the reserved data to an external device, it is recommended to delete the internal reserved data.

The results will be listed in <ARCHiVing inFO>. The maximum backup capacity for one time is 20gB. if the archiving request exceeds 20gB, the end time will be adjusted to within 20gB. To export to a storage device, insert USB to the DVR and click <ExPORT>. if you just want to reserve the data, click <RESERVE>. When the <TAg nAME> dialog appears, enter the name and click <OK>. Click <RESERVE> to save it to the HDD. Using <RESERVE> will compromise the recording days available. To exit the Archive menu, click <CLOSE>.

Playing the archived data you can play archived data from a USB storage device. in addition, you can check the details and integrity of the data. Enter "Vitek SPiRE Viewer" in the search bar. install the application on your iPhone. The DVR Viewer supports the 1/4 split screen mode. Enter "EH / SPiRE Viewer" in the search bar to find it before downloading. install the application on your Smart Phone. The EH / SPiRE Viewer supports the 1/4 split screen mode. To connect to DVR with nViewer Select and run the nViewer. Use the Add button to select and add a site to the list. Enter a name for your DVR. The system does not operate at all with no active LED in the front panel. ~ Check the input voltage. ~ Check if the system fan the side panel of the unit. if it fails, contact the retailer or the service center.
